NaFFAA Illinois is a chapter within the Midwest Region 3W of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations ― the largest national affiliation of Filipino American institutions, umbrella organizations, and individuals. Its thirteen-member regions cover the continental United States, Alaska, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Guam, the Marianas Islands, and American Samoa.

2015 NaFFAA ILLINOIS Chapter Officers

ABBEY EUSEBIO | Chair, Illinois Chapter
Abbey was inducted into NaFFA's Circle of Empowered Women in 2011. She serves as a Constituent Advocate for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and assists constituents of the 9th Congressional District with the issues they have at various federal agencies. Abbey is a member of the board for Circa Pintig, a not-for-profit Filipino community arts organization dedicated to the development and popularization of community arts that speak of the immigrant experience within the changing multicultural landscape of America. She is also a member of the Asian American Advisory Council for State Senator Daniel Biss. Abbey serves on the board for the nonprofit organization, Childcare Network of Evanston (CNE), which is a community resource group that builds strong foundations for young children through access to high quality early education and family support, especially to single parents. Abbey received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Missouri.

ROSE TIBAYAN | Vice Chair, Illinois Chapter

Rose was inducted into NaFFA's Circle of Empowered Women during its inaugural year in 2004. She is an award-winning broadcast journalist who worked as a television news reporter for WPVI-TV (ABC) Philadelphia, KTVU-TV (FOX) San Francisco, WINK-TV (CBS) Fort Myers and ​KUAM-TV (NBC) Guam. Rose is the Executive Editor of Blackline Review, an online business publication that covers Chicago startup companies. She sits on the communication commitee of the national Hydrocephalus Association and volunteers at The Field Museum, as a member of the Digital Co-Curation team, helping to digitize the museum's 10,000 Filipino artifacts. She is CEO of The Sampaguita Group, an Illinois-based non-profit organization, which awards college scholarships to Filipino American women. Rose founded Ligaya Magazine, an online women's publication that chronicles the life of Filipino American women. She holds a Master of Arts in medical and science journalism from Columbia University in New York City. 

LYNNETTE TORRES | Treasurer, Illinois Chapter
Lynnette was inducted into NaFFA's Circle of Empowered Women during its inaugural year in 2004. She is a professional registered nurse, administrator, and consultant to Glen Health and Home Management. Her deep knowledge of the industry makes her a popular speaker at healthcare symposia where she shares information about management and financial empowerment. An avid traveler, Lynnette has visited 300 cities, in 28 countries, and is still counting! A woman of faith, she leads her women's group at Chicago Suburban Christian Church in Melrose Park, IL, and volunteers for the organization, 'Kids Against Hunger.' Born in Aparri, Cagayan, in the Philippines, she and her husband Roberto have a daughter named Gail. Lynnette is a 'foodie,' loves to play the piano, and enjoys traveling. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from De LaSalle University, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Chinese General Manila.
RIAN MARIE FRANCISCO | Secretary, Illinois Chapter
Rian was inducted into NaFFA's Circle of Empowered Women in 2015. She has spent the past five years evangelizing cultural education and awareness that has helped to position Filipinos in the United States as an emerging community. Embracing the core values of integrity, innovation, and growth, Rian has fed her insatiable interest in education, entertainment, music and culture through her community work as she engages with thought leaders and high-ranking decision makers. Her ultimate goal is to become a leader, using her drive and untiring commitment, to bring back the bayanihan in the community together with the new generation of Filipino Americans. Rian Mari holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications. She is a current employee of Walgreens Corporate Head Office in Deerfield, IL, and a former road manager for celebrities with ABS-CBN Star Magic of the Philippines.
